Skype's new feature: Blurring the background

With the rise of WhatsApp and other free messaging and video calling app, Skype is no longer the go-to service as it used to be. Earlier Skype was widely used for video calling purpose but now there are few users of Skype. It's only because of other free video calling apps in the market. Now Microsoft has added a new feature to Skype which may raise its appeal among users. Now you don't need to stress about cleaning up your room before any call with Skype's new feature of background blur.

Skype's new feature of blurring the background:

The video conferencing service Skype has now introduced a blurred background feature. So now whatever is behind you gets blurred out, while you the participant in that video call, remains in focus. This helps you to obscure your messy room or any other background details you would not want to display to the other party on the line.

Skype said the feature is like background blurring added to the Microsoft teams last year which uses artificial intelligence(AI) technology. AI is trained in human form detection which helps to keep you in focus during your call. This technology can also detect your hair, hands, and arms. This helps in making a call with background blur just as relaxed and easy as a regular video call. But all this comes with a caution. Microsoft clarifies that,

"We do our best to make sure that your background is always blurred, but we cannot guarantee that your background will always be blurred."

Microsoft says background blur is now available on most desktops and laptops with the latest version of the Skype app. Handy then, if you don't have the time to tidy up before that important business call. You can enable this feature in Skype’s settings or from the video call button inside the service. Check this cool feature out here http://www.skype.com
